Long Night of the Sciences
Participating science institutions
Berlin, Germany
One of Berlin’s best June events for curious adults, teens, and families. The Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften brings together universities, research institutes, and laboratories across Berlin for a single evening of public programming — talks, experiments, facility tours, demonstrations, and hands-on stations that are rarely open to visitors otherwise.
The participating institutions span the city: Adlershof, Dahlem, Mitte, and Wedding are all part of the program, but not every site is close to the others. The smarter approach is to pick one geographic cluster — say, the Freie Universität area in Dahlem, or the tech and science cluster in Adlershof — and spend the evening there instead of trying to cover multiple districts.
A single ticket covers the shuttle buses that run between venues, which makes moving around within a cluster practical. Families with school-age children tend to find the hands-on stations and experiment demos particularly worthwhile. For adults without kids, the institutional tours and evening talks are the draw.
Tickets sell in advance and the event can get busy at popular venues early in the evening. Book ahead and aim to arrive at your first venue before the main rush.
