Kreuzberg Festival

Bergmannkiez

Kreuzbergstraße, 10965 Berlin, Germany

Kreuzberg Festival takes over Bergmannkiez for a late-June weekend with music stages, food stalls, market vendors, and the general density of a well-attended Berlin street festival. It is the continuation of what was previously known as the Bergmannstraßenfest, rooted in the neighborhood’s character as one of Berlin’s most livable and locally distinct kiez.

Bergmannstraße and the streets around Marheinekeplatz fill up by early afternoon on both Saturday and Sunday. The music tends to be a mix of local bands and DJs across a few small stages — nothing stadium-scale, but the kind of live sound that gives a street festival its pulse. Food options are international and varied, in keeping with the neighborhood’s range of restaurants and market culture year-round.

The area is well served by public transit: U7 to Gneisenaustraße or Südstern gets you close. Cycling is a practical option since Kreuzberg is flat and well-connected by bike routes.

Go earlier in the day with families or visitors who prefer a manageable crowd. Go in the evening if the music and the street-festival energy — louder, denser, more spontaneous — are what you’re looking for.
