Kosher Street Food Festival
Neue Synagoge
Oranienburger Straße 28-30, 10117 Berlin, Germany
The Kosher Street Food Festival takes place on the plaza outside Neue Synagoge on Oranienburger Straße — one of Berlin’s most historically significant Jewish sites — and brings together kosher food vendors, live music, and a summer outdoor atmosphere in a setting with genuine meaning.
The food draws on Jewish culinary traditions from across different communities and diaspora: Ashkenazi dishes, Israeli street food, Middle Eastern influences, and more. For visitors unfamiliar with kosher cooking, or for Jewish Berliners and tourists who rarely encounter it done well outdoors, it offers something distinct from the city’s generic street food landscape.
The festival is free to enter and runs through the afternoon into the evening. It coincides with Fête de la Musique on June 21, which makes for a natural combination: a daytime food and culture stop near the synagogue, followed by an evening of live music in whichever neighborhood suits you.
Oranienburger Straße is easily reached by S-Bahn (Oranienburger Straße station) or U-Bahn (Oranienburger Tor). The surrounding area — Scheunenviertel, Hackescher Markt, and the streets north of Mitte — has plenty of options if you want to extend the afternoon further.
