Berlin Brass Festival

Berlin Brass Festival runs through the week before Fête de la Musique and shares some of its spirit — open-air, free, spread across the city — but with a tighter focus on brass music in its many forms. Expect concert bands, jazz brass ensembles, Balkan-influenced groups, street performances, and more formal concert formats depending on the specific event.
All performances are free, and the venues shift each year across parks, squares, courtyards, and outdoor stages in different neighborhoods. This makes the festival easy to combine with other plans: catch a set in whatever part of the city you’re already in, rather than treating it as a destination unto itself.
The week-long format means there’s usually something on most evenings, which gives you flexibility if one date doesn’t work. Daytime and early evening performances are common alongside later shows.
Check the official program for exact locations, times, and formats before going. The point is to choose one nearby performance and build the evening simply around it — a drink before, dinner after, or vice versa. It sits naturally in the city’s late-June musical buildup toward the summer solstice and Fête de la Musique.
